Double Progress!
1. I'm a third of the way to my weight goal of 185 pounds. As of this morning, I'm 155, a 15-lb. gain since November.
This is due, in part, to having dropped cardio and adding lunch to my menu, but it's largely the result of eating—instead of drinking—half my calories, which has noticeably slowed my hyperactive metabolism. I'm now eating breakfast, lunch, a midday snack, and supper.
2. I can now bench more than what I weigh! By adding five pounds to the bar every other week, I'm up to 160.

For fun, 155 lbs. is where Brad Pitt tipped the scales when he shot Fight Club. While training for the film, he purportedly benched 165 (25 reps), 195 (15 reps), and a whopping 225 (eight reps). Sigh. But I'm not worried. At my current rate, I should be in Pitt's max vicinity by Halloween. (We'll just ignore that I'll have 30 lbs. on him by that time.) It occurs to me that I may, in retrospect, regret not having chosen to shadow Tyler Durden instead of The God of Thunder. |
